What Happens in the Classroom?

Our classrooms are dynamic spaces where students are encouraged to be curious, collaborative, and courageous in their learning. Lessons are purposefully designed to be engaging, challenging, and grounded in Christian values. Our educators use a range of research-informed strategies to support deep understanding, critical thinking, and the development of key skills. With a strong focus on relationships, our teachers create environments where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

Learning Outside the Classroom

Learning extends beyond the classroom walls through a rich array of co-curricular, cultural, and service-learning opportunities. From camps and trips, to sports, creative industries, leadership training, and community service, our students experience educational opportunities that shape both head and heart. These real-world experiences help students develop resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility to others—core values grounded in the Christian faith. We believe that learning is most powerful when it’s authentic, active, and connected to the wider world.

Fostering Ease of Learning

Parent Engagement

Westside Christian College values parents as essential partners in the learning journey of every child. Our commitment to transparent and timely communication is underpinned by continual reporting through Schoolbox, our Learning Management System. This platform allows parents to access real-time feedback on every piece of assessment, track progress, and stay informed about classroom activities and upcoming tasks. In addition to parent-teacher interviews and regular updates, this ongoing flow of information empowers parents to support their child’s learning in meaningful and informed ways. Together, we form a strong learning community where every student is supported to flourish.

Homework Club

If students require additional support with their allocated homework, staff in the library are available between 3 pm and 4:30 pm each day, The library is a quiet place with plenty of resources. Students are invited to make use of this opportunity, alongside any other academic support we provide.

Football Development Program

The WCC Football Development Program is curriculum-based. It’s designed to give students opportunities to develop soccer skills in a professional environment. Students from Year 9 and Year 10 can elect to complete a six-term program run over two years.

The football program follows the FFA Curriculum, which is designed to ensure junior players across the country are familiar with the national style of football preferred by Senior Level coaches. Our coaches have completed their Junior and Senior Football Licences and have experience coaching football in various contexts.
