Welcome to Secondary
At Westside Christian College we are committed to preparing and equipping our young people for life in a rapidly changing, complex and often volatile world.
Building the Framework for Life
As they enter Secondary school, our students build on the foundational knowledge and skills developed in earlier years, engaging with more complex concepts and challenges, and increased opportunities for growth. Westside's evidence-based curriculum encourages students to grow as critical thinkers, effective communicators and responsible citizens.
Academic learning is integrated with daily devotions and Christian Studies, helping students explore how faith shapes every aspect of life. A broad array of curricular and co-curricular programs continues to support students' academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth, preparing them for life beyond school.
Collaboration & Leadership
We have been designed for life in community. Accordingly, we encourage our young people to be individuals of influence who are articulate and proficient at working with others. We are committed to fostering advanced collaborative and communication skills, including within digital environments, through the responsible and ethical use of technology.
We seek to equip students to be leaders—individuals who bring blessing to their families, workplaces and communities. These capabilities are nurtured throughout life and learning at Westside, including through the co-curricular and outdoor education programs, and formal service and leadership opportunities.
Caring for Others—Our Community & Beyond
What’s the value of possessing all the knowledge and skills in the world if you don’t know how to care for others? Fostering generosity, we encourage our students to be welcoming, kind and gracious, as they develop and use their God-given gifts, talents and capabilities in service to others.
Our Westside staff are intentional about broadening students’ horizons to develop empathy toward, understanding of, and respect for others in our diverse local, national and global communities. It is our hope that their love and care for others would be a light in the community that testifies to the love and goodness of God.
